About Kuala Lumpur City Center KLCC Colouring Page
The Petronas Twin Towers are built on a 40 hectare site in the Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur. It was designed by architect Cesar Pelli and was completed in March 1996.
The 88-storey glass and stainless steel tower, is a Malaysian Muslim heritage sculpture. The basic structure is the design developed from the canceled Chicago buildings.
To create the Petronas Twin Towers site, the earth was dug up to 117 meters, which is as tall as a five-story building. A total of 7,000 cubic meters of concrete cement has been poured for two weeks continuously. The weight of the whole building is 100,000 tons.
The tower has unique security features and was first used in Malaysia. In the event of an earthquake or tornado, the tower will be inclined. Its inclination follows the strong wind up to 1.5 meters. When the disaster subsides, the tower will be upright as usual.
There are 12 lights around the tower which flashes 24 hours a day. Each is worth RM15,000. The total cost of construction of Petronas Twin Towers is RM270 million.
Under the Petronas Twin Towers is a popular shopping complex, known as Suria KLCC.
Outside the building there is a garden designated by the Garden Development Team, Kuala Lumpur City Center Project (KLCC). In the garden there is a fountain pool, a children’s playground, a haven of art gallery and murals.
There is also a Surau built for public use. This cafe is built on Islamic architecture and can accommodate up to 6,000 pilgrims. There is also the KLCC Asy-Syakirin Mosque which is located next to the KLCC building.
The Petronas Twin Towers have space paths between the two towers on floors 41 and 42. It is 170 meters tall and 58 meters long. The same level is known as the podium because visitors who want to go higher need to stop by to switch the lift. The space bridge is open to all but needs to take the visitor’s passes.
The Kuala Lumpur Convention Center is the main exhibition and convention center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This built-in exhibition center and convention is part of the Kuala Lumpur City Center area, also known as KLCC.
